Feeding Habits
Orange-bellied Antwren primarily feeds on small insects such as beetles and cockroaches, and possibly spiders. Foraging behavior involves short hops as they move through the foliage 5-20 meters above ground, often with mixed-species flocks. Unique in its active gleaning from various surfaces, orange-bellied Antwren performs acrobatic feats to reach prey, including hanging upside-down and short hover-gleans, and will pursue flushed prey with short flights.
Habitat
The orange-bellied Antwren is commonly found in the canopy and subcanopy layers of semi-humid upland evergreen forests, typically within broader tropical regions characterized by high humidity and dense foliage, which provide a rich environment for these birds to forage and thrive.
