  Feeding Habits
Bluish-slate Antshrike mainly consumes insects like beetles, grasshoppers, and ants, including other arthropods, small lizards, and snails. As a sentinel, it coordinates flock feeding and warns of predators. It hunts by making sallies from perches, capturing prey in the air or off vegetation, sometimes after other species have flushed it out. Bluish-slate Antshrike opts for large prey items, bashing and processing them before consumption.
    Habitat
The bluish-slate Antshrike typically resides in the understorey and mid-storey of lowland evergreen forests. It is adapted to environments that include both terra firme and várzea forests, with a preference for areas abundant in bamboo and vine tangles, often in openings created by light-gaps.
