Feeding Habits
Mouse-colored Antshrike primarily preys on insects such as katydids, grasshoppers, beetles, and lepidopterans, supplemented by spiders and other arthropods. Forages by hopping and short flights across different surfaces, employing perch-gleaning or sally-gleaning techniques. Occasionally joins understorey flocks, rarely follows army ants.
Habitat
The habitat of mouse-colored Antshrike primarily encompasses the mid-story of lowland evergreen forests and forest edges, characteristic of terra firme regions. These birds are particularly associated with sandy-soil forests and are prevalent within the broader Guianan region.
