Description
The glaucous tanager (Thraupis glaucocolpa) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. The term glaucous describes its colouration. It is found in Colombia and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.

Feeding Habits
Glaucous Tanager mostly consumes fruit and insects, foraging in the canopy. Although similar to T. episcopus, it is less sociable and conspicuous, feeding alone or in small groups. It may also seek out human-provided rice at feeding trays.
Habitat
The glaucous Tanager primarily inhabits dry deciduous woodlands, areas with scrub and thorny vegetation, as well as riparian tree zones. It is also found in human-modified landscapes such as plantations and gardens. Typically associated with larger tree groves in open landscapes, glaucous Tanager favors sites with more lush vegetation, particularly around wetter areas like streams.
