Feeding Habits
The Golden-chevroned Tanager, golden-chevroned Tanager, primarily feeds on fruits including Livistona palm fruits, Ficus, and bananas. Golden-chevroned Tanager forages actively in the canopy, often in mixed-species flocks, and may aggressively defend fruiting trees. Golden-chevroned Tanager also consumes insects, searches for food in lichens and moss, and frequents feeders.
Habitat
Golden-chevroned Tanager typically inhabits a range of wooded and semi-open environments. These birds thrive in areas where there are forest edges, shrubby clearings, and the canopies of humid forests. They also adapt well to human-modified landscapes such as gardens and other settled areas. Generally, golden-chevroned Tanager favors more mountainous regions over lowland areas.
