Description
The chestnut-capped babbler (Timalia pileata) is a passerine bird of the family Timaliidae. It is monotypic within the genus Timalia.

Feeding Habits
Chestnut-capped Babbler primarily consumes caterpillars, beetles, other insects, and their eggs. They forage in small groups, often associated with Chrysomma sinense, usually staying close to lower vegetation.
Habitat
Chestnut-capped Babbler typically inhabits lowland swampy regions, dense tall grasslands, reedbeds, scrub-jungle, and brushwood, commonly found near streams and roadways. They favor areas with heavy vegetation such as Eupatorium odoratum and thrive among low bushes, thorn hedges, bamboo stands in cultivated areas, and Phoenix paludosa shrubs within mangrove ecosystems across broader regions of Southeast Asia.
