Description
It is greenish yellow with wedge shaped tail. The crown is tinged with orange-rufous with variable amount of maroon on back and scapulars in male but absent in female. It is found in the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It ranges across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon primarily consumes fruits and berries, favoring figs, mulberries, as well as Myrica and several others. Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon forages acrobatically in the treetops, sometimes hanging upside-down to reach food, and also visits salt-licks on the ground. They are commonly seen foraging alone, in pairs, or small flocks.
Habitat
The wedge-tailed Green Pigeon is typically found in dense broadleaf forests with an abundance of trees such as oak, elm, laurel, and rhododendron. This species favors forested habitats that also include regions undergoing secondary growth and can be found across broad geographical areas, particularly in the forests of the Indian subcontinent and Indochina, as well as on islands such as Sumatra, Java, and Lombok.
