Description
The black-faced laughingthrush (Trochalopteron affine) is a bird species in the family Leiothrichidae. It is found in the Eastern Himalayas. Its range extends from eastern Nepal eastwards to Arunachal Pradesh in India and further to Myanmar, along with Bhutan and southeastern Tibet. Small disjunct populations also exist in continental Southeast Asia.

Feeding Habits
Black-faced Laughingthrush consumes beetles, berries, fruits like wild strawberries and crabapples, as well as seeds of brambles and wintergreens. They forage in pairs or groups, often on the ground or in tree crowns, and may join mixed-species foraging flocks.
Habitat
Black-faced Laughingthrush generally inhabits high-altitude forested environments. Commonly, black-faced Laughingthrush is found amidst thick undergrowth within broadleaf evergreen forests, mixed forests with coniferous trees, as well as areas with bamboo and various species of oak. Additionally, black-faced Laughingthrush can be found in habitats with dense shrubbery, such as rhododendron forests and juniper thickets, often above the tree line.
