Description
The Assam laughingthrush (Trochalopteron chrysopterum) is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It is found in Northeast India and adjacent southwest China and Myanmar. The species was formerly regarded as a subspecies of the chestnut-crowned laughingthrush, T. erythrocephalum.

Feeding Habits
Assam Laughingthrush subsists mainly on invertebrates and likely some vegetation. These birds forage alone, in pairs, or small groups, primarily on or near the ground, though they sometimes search on mossy or lichen-draped tree branches.
Habitat
The assam Laughingthrush typically inhabits the understory of dense broadleaf evergreen forests, pine, and mixed woodlands. It is also found in areas with stunted oak growth and dwarf rhododendron shrubs. These birds are typically associated with regions that host bamboo thickets within these forested environments.
