Description
The streaked laughingthrush (Trochalopteron lineatum) is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It is commonly found in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent and some adjoining areas, ranging across Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, and Tajikistan. The subspecies imbricatum is usually considered a separates species, Bhutan laughingthrush.

Feeding Habits
Streaked Laughingthrush predominantly consumes insects like moths, caterpillars, small flies, ants, and spiders, as well as berries, fruits, and seeds. Occasionally, it may eat breadcrumbs. Foraging occurs on the ground, often in pairs or small groups, and has adapted to feeding in open areas and under bushes, even within human settlements.
Habitat
The streaked Laughingthrush is commonly found in a variety of shrublands composed of bushes and scrub, including habitats with thickets of brambles, witch-hazel, spiraea, and hopseed bush. It thrives in areas with dwarf willow on hill and ravine slopes, bordering forests and open woodland. Habitually, it can be observed in scrubby regions near human settlements such as field borders, gardens, and stone walls with adjacent cultivation. The species is also known to inhabit juniper forests and areas with chilgoza pine.
