Description
The creamy-bellied thrush (Turdus amaurochalinus) is a species of bird in the family Turdidae. It occurs in a wide range of wooded habitats in a large part of central and eastern South America. It is generally common, even in human altered habitats such as gardens and parks. While the plumage varies from overall greyish to brownish, and the bill from dusky to yellow, adult creamy-breasted thrushes always have distinctive blackish lores. This separates it from other similar thrushes (e.g. the pale-breasted thrush) found in its range.

25 cm
Feeding Habits
Creamy-bellied Thrush predominantly consumes invertebrates, particularly termites, and supplements its diet with a variety of fruits, including 19 species of wild and cultivated varieties, as well as eucalyptus flowers. It forages mainly arboreally but also on the ground, especially around treefalls, and is observed feeding in grassy areas near cover.
Habitat
The creamy-bellied Thrush typically inhabits semi-humid to semi-arid regions, favoring environments such as the Cerrado, forest borders, open woodlands, secondary growth areas, and thorny thickets. It adapts well to anthropogenic landscapes, including estates, farmlands, parks, and both rural and urban gardens. This bird is commonly found in open areas near human dwellings, such as plazas and woodlots, as well as in riparian scrub zones.
