Feeding Habits
Grey-winged Blackbird primarily consumes insects, larvae, caterpillars, snails, slugs, earthworms, and fruits like Cotoneaster and Berberis berries. With both arboreal and ground foraging, grey-winged Blackbird exhibits rapid hops and pauses while feeding. In winter, it may feed in small flocks.
Habitat
The grey-winged Blackbird typically inhabits diverse humid broadleaf evergreen forests, including oak varieties and other trees like castanopsis, elm, magnolia, alder, rhododendron, horse chestnut, poplar, and rowan. These birds adjust seasonally, moving to more open woodlands, secondary growths, scrublands, clearings, and areas near human settlements in the colder months. Their habitats are common across broad geographical regions characterised by these forest compositions.
