Feeding Habits
Brown-headed Thrush consumes a varied diet of insects, spiders, molluscs, and fruit. Foraging at different forest levels, brown-headed Thrush adapts seasonally, eating insects and bugs in summer while switching to fruits like berries in autumn and early spring.
Habitat
The habitat of brown-headed Thrush primarily includes dense broadleaf deciduous and mixed forests with a preference for groves near water bodies like river floodplains and lakes. During breeding, they inhabit open and fairly dry woodland areas with shrubby undergrowth, occasionally extending to open coniferous woods. Non-breeding habitats are more varied, including lower elevation broadleaf forests, second growths, clearings, mixed scrub, and human-modified landscapes such as orchards and suburban parks.
