Life Expectancy
9.6-10 years
Feeding Habits
Clay-colored Thrush has an omnivorous diet, feasting on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. It forages in shrubs and trees, adaptively snacking on invertebrates as well.
Habitat
The clay-colored Thrush predominantly inhabits areas of open forest and forest edges, favoring semi-open landscapes such as lighter thinned woodlands, clearings, and fields with margins. It is commonly seen in human-modified environments, including gardens, suburban areas, lawns, and agricultural zones like pastures, coconut groves, mango orchards, and coffee plantations. This bird species adapts well to living in areas that offer scattered trees or hedges, particularly in regions with lower rainfall. While it generally avoids dense, unbroken forests, clay-colored Thrush may venture into heavier forests and dense second growth areas during the nonbreeding season, usually for foraging purposes.
