Habitat
The glossy-black Thrush typically inhabits the dense foliage of humid and wet subtropical and temperate montane forests, including tall cloudforests. It favors the middle and upper strata of these environments and is often found along the edges of forests, in advanced secondary woodlands, and remnant woodlots. Occasionally, it may venture into gardens and clearings, especially within its broader geographical range across the montane regions of the Andes.
