Description
The rufous-vented whitetip (Urosticte ruficrissa) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Rufous-vented Whitetip's diet consists mainly of nectar from Clusia, Palicourea, and bromeliads. Besides nectar foraging, rufous-vented Whitetip catches insects by aerial hawking and, less frequently, by gleaning them off leaves.
Habitat
The habitat of rufous-vented Whitetip predominantly spans humid, partly open mountain forests, which can encompass regions of cloudforest, as well as adjacent forest edges. These birds are typically found foraging from the lower to middle strata of the forest.
