Description
The chestnut-sided shrike-vireo (Vireolanius melitophrys) is a species of bird in the family Vireonidae. It is found in Guatemala and Mexico. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Habitat
Chestnut-sided Shrike-vireo predominantly resides in mixed forests ranging from humid to semi-arid conditions, commonly containing pines (Pinus) and oaks (Quercus) amidst other deciduous trees, characterized by a high presence of epiphytes and a thick understory of shrubs and vines. It inhabits elevations from 1200 to 3500 meters. Habitats include pristine forests as well as regions moderately altered by selective logging for charcoal production.
