Feeding Habits
White-throated Woodcreeper primarily feeds on arthropods including cockroaches, beetles, ants, and fly larvae, and occasionally consumes snails, bird eggs, and small vertebrates. White-throated Woodcreeper forages alone or with mixed-species flocks, preferring forest lower and middle levels, probing bark to extract prey. Special adaptations include foraging amid bromeliads and exploiting ant swarms.
Habitat
The white-throated Woodcreeper predominantly inhabits humid Atlantic Forests, as well as semi-deciduous and gallery forests bordering cerrado and Chaco regions. It favors primary forests but is also accustomed to mature secondary growth, forest edges, and sometimes solitary trees in scrubby clearings. The white-throated Woodcreeper typically dwells in lowland forests and subtropical foothills, mainly in areas characterized by tropical hill forests.
