Feeding Habits
Lesser Woodcreeper consumes mainly arthropods, favoring beetles, cockroaches, and ants. Feeds on trunks and forages from understorey to canopy, preferring rough bark and epiphytes. Lesser Woodcreeper often forages alone or in mixed flocks, occasionally at army-ant swarms, using gleaning and pecking to hunt.
Habitat
The lesser Woodcreeper typically inhabits a variety of forested environments, predominantly favoring lowland rainforests and humid montane forests across tropical and subtropical zones. It is frequently found in mature forests, older secondary growths, and forest edges but may also occupy semi-deciduous and gallery forests, as well as Araucaria forests in some regions. Though less common, lesser Woodcreeper can also be seen in younger secondary growths and even gardens that are adjacent to forested areas.
