Feeding Habits
Olive-backed Woodcreeper predominantly consumes insects and forages from mid-levels to the subcanopy, occasionally reaching the canopy or descending nearer to the ground. It typically forages by probing into bark crevices and moss or by gleaning from the bark surface. Olive-backed Woodcreeper may forage alone, in pairs, or within mixed-species flocks, often correlating with the presence of certain foliage-gleaners.
Habitat
The olive-backed Woodcreeper predominantly inhabits the evergreen forests of the middle elevations in the Andes. It thrives in humid and very humid montane evergreen forest environments, including cloudforests and, to a lesser extent, slightly stunted forests. This species prefers the interiors of mature forests but can also be found in older secondary growths or along forest edges, primarily within the upper tropical and subtropical zones.
