Description
The alpine thrush (Zoothera mollissima) is a species of bird in the thrush family.

Feeding Habits
Alpine Thrush mainly consumes insects, snails, and leeches, supplementing its diet with berries and seeds. It forages on the ground in shaded areas, skulking about and turning over leaves and decaying vegetation to probe the earth for food. In the non-breeding season, alpine Thrush may forage in loose flocks.
Habitat
Alpine Thrush typically inhabits damp, shady alpine meadows and grassy slopes with scattered boulders. These environments are often near the treeline, interspersed with shrubbery that includes oak, rhododendron, and various conifers. Outside of the breeding season, alpine Thrush can be found in open bushy areas, agricultural lands, valleys, and forests. The species is adaptable and frequently uses diverse forest habitats, such as those with spruce, fir, and pine, particularly during seasonal movements.

It is found from the north-western Himalayas to southern China. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland and subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland.
